My new memoir zine is available for purchase in Gahanna: Lost Restaurants of Gahanna, Ohio. For the month of July, Lost Restaurants will be available exclusively at The Bibliophile Candle Co., 5454 N Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna. Stop in for the memoir, stay for the book selections and candles! (After July, Lost Restaurants will also be available through mail order and at conventions, etc.). In addition, I've created a FB discussion group just for this subject: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1802797810618527

Signifiers Missing Link Found!
Thanks to Ricki Elliot (who posted an article this week on the Do You Remember: Classic Old Columbus Facebook group), a mystery has been solved. The 1955 article about the opening of the record department in downtown Columbus Lazarus Dept, Store mentioned a special Lazarus Sampler 45 co-produced with RCA. I've owned the 45 for as long as I can remember and it's a fascinating artifact, a creepy and weird mixture of Henri Rene, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp Minor and the Three Suns. I used my beat-up copy on the inside front cover of The Signifiers #1 (altering it to include the Signifiers logo). There will be more musical cues and allusions, as usual, in The Signifiers #3 - for those who know where to look.

The Jack Kirby Society Central Ohio chapter
Inspired by Josh Mahoney's Jack Kirby Society meeting in Arkansas (with
Mike Adkins, Terry Wood and other Kirby fans appearing or contributing), I've created a central Ohio chapter. A meeting to share and discuss
Kirby's work is a possibility if there's enough interest. Of course,
you're welcome to share thoughts and art in this new Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheJackKirbySocietyCentralOhio/

Kitty In the Window at Elizabeth's Records in Clintonville
A nice photo posted on Facebook by Elizabeth's Records of the sign I hand-painted for them. It seemed huge when I painted it, but looks small in the window.
Elizabeth's Records is a great, locally and family owned shop, specializing in used LPs, 45s, music books and turntables. Check out their website here: http://www.elizabethsrecords.webs.com/

Is This Your Art?
Sometime in the past (I'm guessing around twenty years ago), I received a page of artwork from artist Darrell Grant for me to ink. I've searched for Darrell on Facebook and through the Small Press Association, to no avail.
If you're Darrell Grant, please contact me. If you'd still like me to ink the page, I can do that, too!

The Signifiers #1 Now Available at Elizabeth's Records
Elizabeth's Records in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio is now selling The Signifiers #1 and will be selling the second issue as soon as printed.
Elizabeth's Records carries a fine selection of affordably priced vinyl, including a local section, 45s and also crates of LPs for two bucks each! I always find something I'm looking for there (two Bowie 12"s and an import Eurythmics 12" I didn't know existed on my last trip there). Elizabeth's is a family-owned store, friendly, knowledgable and supportive of local talent. If you can't tell, I'm highly recommending the joint!
