My new memoir zine is available for purchase in Gahanna: Lost Restaurants of Gahanna, Ohio. A 28-page, B&W digest, Lost details mostly dearly missed culinary purveyors, from Johnny Buccelli's to Hickory House to Hank Newman's. For the month of July, Lost Restaurants will be available exclusively at The Bibliophile Candle Co., 5454 N Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna. Stop in for the memoir, stay for the book selections and candles! (After July, Lost Restaurants will also be available through mail order and at conventions, etc.). In addition, I've created a FB discussion group just for this subject: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1802797810618527

El Rancho Grande in Fairborn, OH
I recommend El Rancho Grande for excellent Mexican food and service. It's across the street from the Nutter Center. We ate at El Rancho Grande after the last Gem City Con and the Chorizo Pollo was very, very good!

Mi Tradicion in Gahanna, Ohio
Mi Tradicion was nearly deserted when we dined there Saturday night, but the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I especially recommend the chorizo nachos. I'm getting hungry just typing the words!

Restaurants Eaten At On a 2011 Trip to Lima, Ohio
La Palma in Bellefontaine. The food was good here.
If I'm remembering correctly, a sign for El Canelo, a previous restaurant at the same location, was still attached to the side door.
This was a comfy family-owned restaurant in Lima, with good service and good food.

Barry's Pub and Grill at The Golf Depot in Gahanna
Good food and beautiful location, Barry's Pub and Grill is in a transplanted Hocking Valley railroad station from Prospect, OH, complete with rare photos and documents lining the walls. I recommend this out of the way treasure: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/33/1621451/restaurant/Columbus/East-Side/Barrys-Pub-at-The-Golf-Depot-Gahanna

Spaghetti Warehouse in Columbus, Ohio
Considering it's a national chain, I've had some pretty good meals at the Columbus Spaghetti Warehouse over the years.
I was disappointed at our most recent visit, though. My favorite meal, the Trolley Stop (flat sirloin steak with spaghetti) is no longer on the menu (replaced with an "upscale" thick steak w/risotto). Since that dish was the reason I went there, I may not be back. I was also disappointed that the Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga arcade game was out of order - another reason I went there. Bummer. The service, though, was very good.
