Pop Culture Paper Ephemera
Ohio has had two different pulp magazine conventions over the years, both of which are either defunct or have departed. I helped design the logo for this one. Since no shops in central Ohio carry pulp magazines, I've having to rely on eBay (I'd much rather support local businesses).
My new memoir zine is available for purchase in Gahanna: Lost Restaurants of Gahanna, Ohio. A 28-page, B&W digest, Lost details mostly dearly missed culinary purveyors, from Johnny Buccelli's to Hickory House to Hank Newman's. For the month of July, Lost Restaurants will be available exclusively at The Bibliophile Candle Co., 5454 N Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna. Stop in for the memoir, stay for the book selections and candles! (After July, Lost Restaurants will also be available through mail order and at conventions, etc.). In addition, I've created a FB discussion group just for this subject: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1802797810618527
The C-Bus Comic Show Spectacular I took part in last year is happening again - this Sunday, 10-4, at the same venue, the Clintonville Women's Club on High St. Eisner Award-winning cartoonist Chris Sprouse will be in the house! 14 dealers, many thousands of comic books, toys, etc. I'll be signing books and posters and have on hand original art, zines, buttons, minicomics, coloring books and the proverbial much more. Free parking, only $2 admission! Brought to you by Columbus Comic Consultant, LLC.
Check out work by indie cartoonists far and wide like M.S. Harkness, Emmi Gennis, Bob Corby, Bryan Moss and Nate McDonough.
