Here's a blast from the past: a mid-'90s promo flyer for central Ohio band Dark Dixie. The rockin' band was led by Bill Fridley who, coincidentally, will be opening a new arts forum, The White Eagle Theatre, soon.
Not coincidentally, I've had the honor of creating art for both Dark Dixie and The White Eagle Theatre, designing the logo and CD cover art for Dark Dixie's The Manson-Nixon Line and promo and video graphics for The White Eagle Theatre - more on that intriguing venture soon.
In the meantime, take a trip back 17 years, when Fireside Books in German Village was still open (and where I spent too much on used books on cool summer nights), Magnolia Thunderpussy hadn't been bulldozed for a frozen yogurt joint, The Record Connection, World Records and Singin' Dog Records were still around (lamented record shops all) and Tamerack Circle was still a place you'd risk your life to visit. Ace in the Hole Records, thank Buddy Holly, still abides:
