Mark Beyer: With/Without Text Exhibition

I've been a fan of Mark Beyer's unique, seminal and emotionally raw cartooning ever since I bought a copy of his self-published A Disturbing Evening and Other Stories around 33 years ago at Monkey's Retreat comic shop. 1979 seems far away now.

I thought I was one of the few who remembered Beyer's work, but a collector of Beyer's original art, Thomas Arlen Wagner, is presenting the first in-depth retrospective of Beyer at the Urban Arts Space in downtown Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, January 10th, 6-8 pm. No word on whether Beyer will be present.

Wagner was promoting the exhibition at this weekend's Mix Symposium presented by the Columbus College of Art and Design. Pics, info and notes about this amazing weekend coming soon here.
