The Digest Enthusiast #1

I just received copies of the debut of The Digest Enthusiast, Richard Krauss and D. Blake Werts' new series covering the world of digest magazines. The book looks great, with interviews, a review by Rob Imes, and a crime story by Krauss I illustrated. I'm looking forward to reading the issue this week. Copy This! is a small press news zine published by D. Blake Werts. It's being released on a rapid schedule and each issue is packed with interviews, essays, news and, in some issues, even con reports. Plus, free inserts in some of the issues. It was a pleasure meeting D. Blake Werts, publisher of the new minicomics info zine, Copy This!, for the first time and catching up with center of the comic book universe Bruce Chrislip. Bruce is holding one of two color sketches I drew for his sketchbook.

Copy This! A Celebration of Mini Comix!

I was very happy to receive the inaugural issue in the mail of a new mini comic which celebrates mini comics! It's getting surprisingly more difficult in the digital age to find places which review and promote small press comics (mini comics, digests, fanzines and indy comics printed on paper) and Copy This!, published by D. Blake Werts, is a welcome addition.

My good friend Dan Taylor is on the cover and interviewed inside and longtime cartoonist Steve (Morty the Dog) Willis provides the intro.
