Slated for Criticism

Am I the only one who hates the new Slate design? News sites have been falling over themselves trying to mimic Tumblr and Pinterest (Pinterest's new redesign now looks more Pinterestesque than ever), with graphics and headlines placed scattershot across the screen with no sense of informational hierarchy or aesthetic beauty. Blah.

Classical LPs I've Listened to Recently, September 9, 2013

Yes, the Gershwin and Scott Joplin LPs may not strictly be classical music, but they were released on the Nonesuch classical label and Joplin, Gershwin and pianist William Bolcom all wrote some classical music.

The Hindemith cover was designed by the great Alex Steinweiss, one of many covers he designed for the Everest label.
